seeking lights

23. January 2008

as so many other things… I also need lights. I just managed to destroy my front light… by trying to change the bulb… to only find out – it’s glued in… So, my next lamp set is supposed to be a bit better. Also, in terms of night side – Scotland does get dark in the winter and Norway even more so. So, my lamp set should be somewhere under £100, if possible even under £50 (ebay might do the trick). And it should give a reasonably good night side for unknown territory. But it doesn’t have to resemble head lights… I don’t want to cause accidents on the roads by blending car drivers into the next ditch…

On an environmental point of view… it would be great if they were rechargeable… but I get the odd feeling that these lights only keep for up to 2 1/2 hours… argh… no good. So, the other option would be lights with rechargeable batteries… and a whole set of those…

I know from experience that rechargeable batteries have this nasty habit of just dying on you, i.e. there is no warning fading out phase – they just die… suddenly… on the darkest spot of the whole stretch… just before or better on the way down – steep slope and… aaaaaaaaaaaah…

Any suggestions???
